About the Author

Rae Leibowitz is uniquely qualified to write Beauty Therapy Texts – holding tertiary qualifications in Medicine, Beauty Therapy and Journalism.

She qualified as a medical practitioner in 1978, having studied at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. She qualified as a beauty therapist in 1987, having studied at Jill Farquharson International Beauty Therapy College, Durban, South Africa. She graduated with honours, and obtained the J.F.Dip, CIDESCO, AAD (CIBTAC) and ITEC diplomas.

She graduated with a Masters in Journalism from the University of Queensland, Australia. Dr Leibowitz has taught in the field of beauty therapy since 1988. She was a member of the CIDESCO MCQ Education committee from 1993, and was chairman of this committee from 2001 to 2006. She was awarded the prestigious CIDESCO medal for education in 2007. She has been an international CIDESCO examiner since 1992. She is a frequent contributor to CIDESCO’s The Link publication.

Dr. Leibowitz migrated to Australia in 1991. She has an ongoing involvement in international Beauty Therapy Education.
